North Florida Swimming FAQs
Why should I choose NFS?
Because we are the best! (According to us.) We have a place for every age and skill level, and always have fun! NFS isn't just a swim team, we're a swim family. For more info, see our philosophies and/or our main website.
Where are you located?
We're in the East Arlington area at Holly Oaks Event Hall & Swim, 11210 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
How much does it cost?
There are two parts: Grown Up Swimming (league) and North Florida Swimming (team). Click here to register with the league (prices subject to Grown Up Swimming), and contact Coach Katie to register with the team ($150 for the summer).
When are practices?
Summer league practices will be held through the months of June & July. The practice schedule can be found here.
Who's in charge over there?
The adult programming (both summer and year-round) is all led by Katie Chiang. Click here for more information about the summer league coaches, and here for more on the year-round crew!
Practice FAQs
When are practices?
This summer's practice schedule can be found here.
What do I need to bring to swim practice?
Swimsuit, towel, cap, goggles, and water/Gatorade are required. We also use fins and kickboards on a pretty much daily basis, so they are highly recommended. Click here for more information.
Does the weather affect swim practice?
Yes, unfortunately. We live in Florida. Afternoon storms ruin things. We do swim in the rain, but are required to get out if lightning strikes within 10 miles of the pool. Practice may resume once no lightning is detected within 10 miles for at least 30 minutes.

What do I need to bring to swim meets?
Besides the standard swim suit & towel, please bring your swim cap & goggles. We also highly recommend the following: lawn chair, extra cap & goggles, extra towel, snacks (such as fruit or granola bars), water and/or Gatorade, a Sharpie, pens & highlighters if there is a printed heat sheet, sunscreen, and personal fan (for summers in Florida).
Grown-Up Swimming FAQs
Grown-Up Swimming? What the heck is that?
A goofy league for folks 18 and over who want to have a laid-back atmosphere to race and be social.
Kinda like slow pitch softball?
Exactly, or summer league swimming for grownups.
Cookouts? Are there really cookouts?
Yep, most of the host pools will run a grill and concession stand for all of your caloric needs!
I can’t just leave my kids at home with their dad on a Saturday night…
Bring ‘em! Most meets will start off with a “multi- generation” relay, so you can even swim with them! Also, why isn’t Dad swimming too?
I Still Can't Find an Answer to My Question
That's okay! Reach out to Coach Katie at [email protected], text her through the Remind app, or come find her at the pool!
